Welcome to Tyler and Parker Thompson's Blog

Tyler and Parker Thompson arrived on June 23, 2008 at only 26 weeks and 4 days old, weighing 1 pound 6 ounces (Parker) and 1 pound 10 ounces (Tyler). Parker spent 129 days (home 10/30/08) in the NICU, while brother Tyler spent 143 (home 11/13/08). We are thrilled to have our family complete with both boys home!

This blog was created by John (the daddy) to inform family and friends (and now new acquaintances) of the twins progression. Below is the blog archive dating back to the week Heather (the mommy) was admitted to the hospital. We try to post weekly updates, but on occasion the week gets the best of us.

Double Double

August 1 10:45 pm

Today we got to hold both boys.....and by we and both I mean we both got to hold both boys!!!! Stats update is more of the same. Each boy had a minor adjustment to their "stuff" in the positive direction......minor being the key word. After several days of huge advancements we are back on planet earth and enjoying the small subtle things that we can see each day. Again, no setbacks, which is great. The advancements were coming so quickly that we really had the feeling that there may be some setbacks on the horizon. Nothing yet and holding strong. Parker's minor advancements coupled with his primary nurse Kathy being on duty meant that we got to hold him. I started with Tyler while Heather was cuddling Parker. Once I put Tyler back I held Parker while Heather went to pump. When she got back it was her turn with Tyler. We both got time with each boy......it was more than likely a foreshadowing of what was to come:):) A good day overall with lots of quality time.
