Adapting the philosophy of no news is good news: today would have to be qualified as a good day. While today didn't bring any significant improvements in either of the boys status, it also didn't bring any significant declines in their process either. Both boys continued to have increases in their feeding amounts, but they also both continued to fluctuate significantly in their breathing stats. Nothing at all compared to the scare we had yesterday (thank heavens for small favors:)). Tyler has his moments of consistancy, but he is still lovingly referred to by all the nurses as "the active one". He is always figity. His pulse oxygen fluctuates quite a bit, but at least his oxygen input pretty much stays in the high 30's and 40's which isn't too bad. We had really hoped to see some pretty significant improvements with him, but we'll continue to be patient. Parker didn't have any "purple" episodes today which is blessing; however he still remains in the high 60's to low 70's on his oxygen input percentages. These need to come down. The latest thing they are considering is changing both boys off of their current occilators and back onto the more conventional respiratory vents. Now you may recall that they've tried this twice with Parker in the last five days to no avail, but we're hoping that the third time is the charm. This will be Tyler's first attempt. Tomorrow should be an interesting day:):) Well I thought I'd put up a few more pics for everyone to see. As bad as my last few blogs have made things seem, I thought I'd bring back the positives by showing everyone how cute they still are......when they're not purple:):):) I'll post them in a separate blog. I don't know how well it will come across in the pics, but they are both looking a lot better from this time last week. Their coloring is much better as is the overall condition of their skin. They are no longer left over lunchables being incased in plastic wrap:):) Their skin has "matured" enough that they no longer need the serrane wrap they have been in. And they have put on some more weight and look much less wrinkled and emaciated. Parker weighed in today at 1 pound 15 1/2 ounces.......now I am a math geek and am here to tell you that we round that up to 1 lb 16 oz which is officially 2 pounds!!!!!! So there's some good news to end on:):)
